The measurement of air pollutant emissions was one of the earliest activities undertaken in the evaluation of air quality, and continues to be a major permit-related activity.

The staff of K&A has experience that extends from emission measurements on basic air pollution sources to measurements on exceedingly complex sources, such as trial burns on major combustion sources utilizing tire-derived fuel and other alternative fuels and the analysis of control system performance.

K&A also provides certification of continuous monitors for sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, total hydrocarbons, mercury, oxygen, gas flow and opacity from new sources in accordance with EPA Performance Specifications.

K&A conducts annual air testing as well as engineering measurements for facilities in a variety of industries, including Power, Cement, Asphalt, Fertilizer, Fiberglass manufacturing, Heavy Mineral Mining and Processing, Phosphate Mining, Aircraft Component Manufacturing, Biomass Processing and Landfills.
